Answering the Call, by Jeffrey Moore

God has called me to something and I want to see it through. It is hard work. It is depleting. It is a lot, but it is amazing, in that, I no longer have to live purposeless, passionless and powerless. I no longer have to live driving from thing to thing, hoping to pass joy along the road – because joy is now the fuel to my drive.
In felling this purpose and pushing forward, driving towards his purpose in my life it can wear me down. And, it is here where my mental battle begins. I start to wonder, “Is this right to do?” Is God calling me to rest?
Or, is he calling me to abide in him as I work hard by faith?
Because people say:
“God’s load is light. You shouldn't feel tired.”
“If it is wearing on you, you are taking on a load that God has not called you to take.”
“If it is beyond your strength, or abilities, then it is too much and not where God wants you to be.”
“If your strength is not 100% then you are doing it by your own might.”
I see where they are coming from, but I am not so sure I agree.
Yes, Christ does say this, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Mt. 11:28)
But, there is also this to contend with:
And let us not grow weary of doing good,
for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Gal. 6:9)
And as for you, brothers and sisters,
never tire of doing what is good. (2 Thess. 3:13)
The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,
while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. (Prov. 13:4)
Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread,
but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense. (Prov. 12:11)
Do not be slothful in zeal,
be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. (Romans 12:11)
My mind may lays conflicted, but Christ’s love is never restricted. So, he draws my heart close and extends his love to a weary heart.
He simply says,
“Power down your mind and power up in me.
Behold me, perceive me and wait on my leading.
I will not misguide you or hide from you; instead I will come alongside you.
I will renew your strength.”
Renew your strength in him. Lean in on him, let him guide you and yes sometimes we need to wait but never loose focus on his purpose in your life.
This probably should be a blog post on my blog sorry for the length. You all are so vital in my walk with Christ and a invaluable source for my purpose and inspiration. Thank you all for allowing God to work in your lives. I love how each and everyone of you bring your own unique perspective and story to our community. It is needed and our time is now. The SANA Movement is powerful might of the Kingdom of God at a time when evil is prevailing amongst us. We will stand united as one voice, one love, one global action for the Kingdom of God. Lean on each other we are all here for each other. Guess this is more of a Mondayinspiration but I feel with all my heart we are renewing each other every day. There is no input, no quote, no thought that isn't needed. Let God use you. You are here for a reason and because of each of you...Lives are gonna be changed. Love you all. Praying for an amazing week full of the blessings of God for you all.

Driving Parables

So as some of you know, I traveled to Florida this weekend. We just got back safely, thank you Lord. While driving (6 hours each way) God and I had an enlightening conversation. So I thought I'd share the Driving Parables.

#1-I used my GPS/Maps App to guide me on my drive. It works by giving you directions as needed and so sometimes I would not hear the little voice for 45 minutes. I would check to make sure the app was still tracking my route, but I never questioned it saying “Are you sure this is the right way?" “Maybe you changed your mind. Maybe I should turn around. It's been too long since I've heard from you." God asked me if we can trust and not question an electronic device to get us to our destination, why do we do this to Him? Why is it that if it's been a while since we heard God's directions we start panicking and questioning God? What happened to all the faith we had when we first heard Him? This is why Jesus said “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:27) If we can trust a man-made map-app, how much more should we trust God, even when He only speaks every 45 minutes?

#2-When the GPS says “In 40 miles, turn left," you know you've got 40 miles to go before you hear further instruction. During this time you need to relax into your stride or pace and prepare to ride straight out for that period of time. This is why the Bible says “Let us run with patience the race set before us..." I always thought it was a paradox to say “run" and “patience" in the same sentence since run indicates movement and patience implies waiting. But now I understand it means pacing yourself and trusting God. What ever season God has you in, ride it out with patience. Set your cruise control to the appropriate speed and drive.

#3-No matter how fast I drive, I cannot change the distance between points A and B. My trip this weekend was about 350 miles each way. There is no way around it; I had to drive the miles. This is why the race is not given to the swift nor to the strong, but to the one who endures until the end. Have you mapped out your route? Are you prepared to drive the whole race? Are you geared up with the Word?

#4- While driving through very dark stretches, I put on my high beams. My high beam lights are so bright that other drivers prefer to drive behind me letting my light lead the way. This is what Jesus meant when He said “You are the light of the world...let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:15,16) Question: Do you have your high beams on?
